PORTO KEA SUITES

Identity: at the edge of Korissia Port, with access to the sandy beach. The two storey constructions of the complex are successful replicas of local residences: whitewashed walls, wood and slate stone gracefully prevail. In the interior, the colonial style furnishings reflected in the dark, oak pieces of furniture and the white rustic beds bring Africa in mind, while the veranda overlooks the colorful garden.

Room next door: occupied by couples in love spending a romantic weekend, Italian families with kids, and “weekend fugitives” who have escaped to Tzia, making it a second home.

Best features: The interior lounge of the hotel, decorated with paintings available for sale which are constantly renewed. So, each time we get there we may encounter refreshed décor. Moreover, there is a section with works of art made of recycled materials, all available for sale, at the reception.

...No program is scheduled for when I arrive. But because it is a weekday, there is plenty of room at the Porto Kea Suites, the island’s first superchic hotel, and since Costas is no longer a hard-charging Athenian, he has time to show me around…

PORTO KEA SUITES
For us who are not lucky enough to have our own home in Kea or any local friends looking forwards to hosting us- which is quite common on the island- Porto Kea Suites Hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The hospitable owners gave us a warm welcome to their private piece of paradise the moment we stepped foot at the hotel, making us feel right at home. If only we had more time available to enjoy the serenity of our lavish stone-built suite to the fullest and relax in our private veranda overlooking the sea. We didn’t have the time to splash into the rather inviting swimming pool, but at least we enjoyed the cool breeze at the pool bar, sitting at comfortable lounge chairs, tasting a sumptuous breakfast.
